Smallcase is an easy-to-use platform. This means when managing your portfolio you can easily sell your stake in the way that you wish. While selling your smallcase you can either choose to fully or partially exit it. Let’s take a look at how it’s done!
Full Exit
If you want to completely exit your smallcase position, you can do so with ease.
Log into the smallcase website/app and go to the Investments page
Select on the smallcase you wish to exit
Click on the “Exit smallcase” button
When the exit smallcase pop-up appears, you must first choose the Whole exit, check your orders, and then confirm them.
This procedure sells all of the stock shares you have in the smallcase and displays the amount receivable to you.
Partial Exit
Selling Individual Stocks
Smallcases are flexible when it comes to managing existing positions. Using the Manage option, you have the option to sell a few or a few individual shares of stock.
Click on the specific smallcase you want to sell individual stocks from on the Investments page.
To open the manage window, click on Manage in the Stock Constituents section.
Change the quantity of a stock in the Manage pop-up to the number of shares you want to keep. By lowering the quantity to 0, you can sell all of the shares of a stock.
Once you are happy with the changes, click "Confirm Changes" to proceed with placing orders. If not, you can undo your changes and start again.
Reducing Investment Amount
You can also decide to reduce the size of your position. You could, for instance, sell off half of your investment, at which point each number of shares owned of each company would be reduced proportionately.
Log into the smallcase website/app and go to the Investments page
Select on the smallcase you wish to exit
Click on the “Exit smallcase” button
Select Partial exit, Enter partial exit amount when the exit smallcase pop-up appears.
Before you proceed with the partial exit, the current value of your smallcase will be displayed for your reference.
The sell orders that will be placed after you confirm the specified amount will be displayed as a confirmation step. You will be prompted to "Confirm" placing the trades once you have placed the partial exit order.
